Now, we are thrilled to present two brand new offerings from Ely; the Heritage and the Legacy mattresses.

Things just got a whole lot more enjoyably complicated. You now have a choice. But how do you know whether the heritage or the legacy mattress is the best fit for you? In this article, we’ll sing you the best bits of both.

A bit about us

But first, a bit about us. Ely mattress makes mattresses from all natural materials, including wool, cotton and horsehair. This means our mattresses are environmentally friendly and hypoallergenic. Because they are breathable, they wick away moisture, which means there’s less chance of mould growing or damp becoming an issue.

Our mattresses are comfortable and affordable. They come with a ten year warranty and thirty day sleep trial.

The Legacy

The legacy mattress is combined with 3000 5 Xone VP ActivEdge®Perimeter Performance Pocket Springs and Nested Tablet pocket springs, which are split into different zones. These support the heaviest part of your body and hold it in line through the night.

The Legacy comes with edge to edge support to eliminate the roll-off feel you get on a standard mattress, which means you will have a consistent and restful sleep every single night.

The Legacy mattress is perfect for you if:

• you’re a restless sleeper,
• you’re elderly and needed added support at the edge of your mattresses,
• you struggle getting in and out of bed,
• you just want a really good, sturdy but comfortable mattress made from natural materials.

The different layers in the Legacy provide clear-cut support and comfort for the key areas of your body, like your neck, back and hips.

The mattress will also dissipate moisture, regulate your temperature and eradicate the breathing in of harmful chemicals whilst you sleep, a trait that comes with memory foam mattresses.

There’s no glue, so we use woollen tufts to keep fillings secure. This improves the lifespan and durability of your mattress.

Tell me about the Heritage mattress

The Heritage mattress is a little different. It has seven amazing layers instead of thirteen and is not flippable, which means it is more affordable. It doesn’t come with ten years of warranty, like the Legacy mattress, but still comes with an incredible five years, though its lifespan is likely to be much more than this, so long as you look after it properly.

You should consider the Heritage mattress if:

• you are looking for a mattress made from natural materials,
• you want a mattress that is strong and sturdy,
• cost effectiveness is important to you,
• you aren’t too concerned with flipping your mattress regularly, and are happy instead to vacuum and clean it more often,
• you want all the great feel of an Ely mattress but can’t afford the Legacy.

We don’t by any means want you to think that the Heritage mattress is not a luxury product. It is, it’s just that we recognise that not everyone can afford high end prices, and instead want a great product for a more manageable amount.

A couple of notes

You should be aware that because there is no glue used in our mattresses, they are prone to changing shape slightly. They are not as rigid as regular mattresses because they’re made from natural materials only.

You should also be aware that your floor to ceiling space needs to be at least 185cm for a Super King mattress, or else we won’t be able to get it into your home.
